Coronavirus touched every company in the world, impacting to a lesser or greater extent on their operation. INNObyte was already flexibly handling the question of working from home even before the ‘great switch to home office’, partly due to the company’s family-friendly attitude. In the early days of the pandemic, we were in the fortunate position of being able to switch to working from home office relatively easily and with few sacrifices. Naturally, as an IT company, the technical side was already given, although there were some colleagues who found it difficult that they could not go into the office, they felt isolated and as a consequences of wave after wave of coronavirus they were constantly forced to stay indoors.
Having processed the experiences of the past 18 months, we have put together 13+7 ideas for distance working and for the return to the office.
Tips for working at home:
- Establish a daily routine. Sort out your morning rituals.
- Plan what needs to be done, note down accurately appointments in the diary.
- Talk to the others at home and set down rules.
- Establish an ergonomic, comfortable workstation.
- Be aware of aches and pains in your back, you are going to need it for a long time!
- Make sure you have breaks, fresh air, movement. Open a window if possible.
- Keep up conversations and ‘coffee breaks’ with colleagues in the same way as before, ask about how others are doing.
- Don’t be afraid of speaking out if you are facing difficulties. In the home office setup it is less obvious to immediate colleagues and boss when things are not okay.

- Define boundaries and split up the day. At the end of the working day, have a little transition time and then continue with private life and jobs around the home.
